Why U.S. Orders May Include Tariffs and Duties — Our Apology

Why U.S. Customers May See Tariffs and Duties on Their Orders (and a Sincere Apology From Us)

If you’re shopping from the United States, you may notice that tariffs or import duties are sometimes added at checkout—or, in some cases, applied by the carrier upon delivery. We want to be fully transparent about this process and offer a sincere apology for any inconvenience it may cause.

As a small business, we work hard to keep our prices fair while maintaining the quality you expect. However, certain products shipped into the U.S. are subject to government-mandated import fees. These charges are set by U.S. customs regulations, not by our store, and they can vary based on the product type, value, and shipping method.

Depending on how your order is processed, these duties may:

  • Appear at checkout, allowing you to pay them upfront, or

  • Be charged by the carrier at the time of delivery, requiring payment before your package is released.

We understand that unexpected fees can be frustrating. Truly, we would prefer not to pass these charges on at all. We’ve explored every possible option to absorb them, but as a small business, it isn’t financially sustainable for us to do so.

An Important Note About U.S. Orders

Because duties and tariffs are part of the import process, all sales to the United States are final. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided for orders refused at delivery or for unpaid duties, as these situations result in significant shipping and processing costs on our end.

To all of our U.S. customers: we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We deeply appreciate your understanding and your continued support as we navigate international shipping requirements.

If you have any questions about duties, delivery, or your order, please reach out—we’re always here to help.
